Ciaran McDonnell

As a 20 year plus veteran of the sports and outdoor apparel industry, Ciaran McDonnell has accumulated experience with all aspects of the technical apparel supply chain. Ciaran’s experience started on the retail floor at Sport Chalet in Southern California, in the early 80s, and he expanded his experience by working in the wholesale and distribution business at Liberty Mountain Sports. He represented Columbia Sportswear through its most dynamic growth years, and then honed his fabric knowledge at Action Sports Fabrics in Los Angeles. Opening and running Earthbound Solutions Inc. in Portland OR, provided Ciaran with vital knowledge in operations and challenges that come with overseas manufacturing. Earthbound had a textile conversion office in Osaka and Taipei as well as garment manufacturing partners in Taiwan and China. He was among the first to recognize Seamless garment construction as a new and exciting opportunity, working with Gibor Sports, Tefron, Delta Galil and AC Carpi to bring seamless technology to the sports and outdoor markets.

Today, Ex Fty works with a well-known and select group of carefully chosen, best in class, yarn and finished fabric suppliers, cut and sew, seamless and NoSo factories. Ciaran’s goal is to bring as seamless an apparel manufacturing solution to his customers as possible. We have an established and growing partner manufacturing base in North America who offer best in class products, quick turns, lower minimums and easy, same time zone, communications.

Ciaran was among the first to introduce and commercialize Seamless Garments with Nike, Adidas, Reebok, New Balance, Smartwool, TNF and more. His most recent new technology passion is NoSo garment construction.
